A Gathering of Ghouls

Alright, enough photography for a while... Here is a look at a typical page in one of my sketchbooks. A few years ago I discovered a new practice technique called blob sketching. Basically, I create a "blob" shape with one of my Prismacolor markers using a light grey (see the lower right of this sketch)- then I come back with a fine tip micron marker and try to turn the shape into a monster... Sort of like looking at the clouds and trying to make a face out of what you see. Sometimes, they turn out great, other times just flat out weird. But that is why so many of my sketches are all distorted and crazy looking... Definitely a good way to help create new and warped monsters!
